Bring Your Idea to Life

Ghostwriting Services

Contrary to what we've all heard, you don't need to be a prolific writer to be a successful author. Many individuals are idea-driven but struggle to organize and carry out a plan. Others are experts in a particular field, but not trained in professional writing. Our ghostwriters have worked with lawyers, teachers, entrepreneurs, celebrities, and simple, everyday people who may have a gripping story to tell but need help getting their ideas onto the page. Below is the general approach we take to transform these ideas into a marketable manuscript fit for publication.

Interview and Research

Following an initial consultation to go over your book idea and your goals for the manuscript, your ghostwriter will begin the research process. This will look a little bit different for every author depending on their idea and whether or not they're publishing a fiction or non-fiction book.

For instance, UnTapped has worked with dozens of memorists who have a unique personal story. In this scenario, your ghostwriter will work with you to identify the main points of your life story through a series of interviews and draft an outline for your approval. If the author is working on a more academic or fictional topic, the ghostwriter may develop an outline based on content or research relayed by the author. Once the ghostwriter has enough content to write your story, the process moves to the drafting stage.

Drafting

Once the author has approved an outline, their ghostwriter will begin with a sample chapter, typically at the beginning of the book (such as the introduction or chapter one). The chapter will be handed back to the author for approval. Once all necessary revisions are made to the sample chapter, the ghostwriter will continue writing the manuscript in a shared document so that the author can monitor progress, and make comments throughout the process.

Editing

Once the author has approved the draft, the manuscript will be handed off to one of UnTapped's skilled editors, or you may choose to hire one of your own outside of our team.

What will it cost?

Transforming an idea into a viable manuscript can be an intensive process and finding the right ghostwriter for your specific goals can be challenging.

But in many other situations, an author may find the perfect synergy with their ghostwriter, and if the idea is simple enough, they may find that hiring a ghostwriter is much more affordable than they originally thought.

The simple answer is that ghostwriting your book may cost anywhere between .09 - .20¢  per word or less or more depending on how much work is involved. However, determining the price is a simple and free process that can take just a day or two to complete. Have additional questions? Contact us for a free consultation.
